Hi!

Thanks for your great work but I have an issue (maybe it isn't)...there is only one hand to play, is it normal? How can I change for two hands? Thanks !

If you've done it already can you share it? As a test, I've split the tracks in logic on the first exercise, they now show up one one staff in treble clef which isn't great, however I am pressing on using the TonE text docs to input the fingering.

Not quite sure what do do after adding fingerings in Synthesia to create the .synthesia file for sharing

This page has all of those details. The short answer is that the (free) Synthesia Metadata Editor can create .synthesia files.

I see, the TonE text writing method is not mentioned there. I suppose I posted my conversion few lines in this forum in the past, via AutoHotkey?

- writing text fingering
- selecting .mid file in FreeCommander
- pressing a key and you get your parallel .synthesia file in same directory as the above midi file
- press another key and Synthesia will start and use that freshly generated fingering information of that .synthesia file

I like this workflow mostly. Independent files. Fingering info can written anywhere, as long as you see the notes as score anywhere, e.g. after a Lilypond midi to pdf conversion. Ok, this is not an official method, only some underground method.

Any chance on getting the fingering to work on IPad? The midi file works fine, but the .synthesia isn't a registered file type and therefore can't be opened with Synthesia when downloaded.

Would I perhaps need to transfer the .synthesia file manually with iTunes? (Which would be a shame, as I don't even have iTunes on my PC right now as I never connect my iPad to it.)

Unfortunately, yes: you'll need iTunes (or something like iFunBox) to do that transfer today. But once the .synthesia file is in Synthesia's sandbox folder, the metadata should be picked up automatically.

This is definitely something that should be easier on the tablet versions of Synthesia. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Just got a new digital piano for my wife and decided to learn to play. Being a believer of modernizing traditional methods, I find Synthesia by far the most fun way to practice and play.

Thought I would contribute some content as I am bound to be utilizing anything I can find in the forum for songs and practice exercises. I took the Mutopia Hanon part 1 (exercises 1-20) (CCA-SA 4.0 license) and corrected the midi channels to separate the left and right hands using Aria Maestosa and added the finger hints as shown in the sheet music. The aria files were used to correct the midi files and can be deleted if desired. The info for all exercises is grouped into the .synthesia file.

Hope this is helpful and if anyone can suggest additional practice material or a good priority for the practice material I have already found I would appreciate it. Thus far I have Hanon, Czerny, Catalogue of cadenzas and modulations, and the scale exercises package I found on the forum. I have been starting with some Hanon, Czerny, and just playing some Easier - Easy level pieces.

Is it me or the Czerny files don't have the hands separated?
