Adding fingering to a MIDI file
No explicit, hateful, or hurtful language. Nothing illegal.
Hello friends, Synthesia users. I have the following issue: I add fingering to a MIDI file in Synthesia, then I open the same MIDI file on another computer, but the fingering doesn't appear. Does the fingering information not get saved in the MIDI file? How can I add fingering information to the MIDI file so that it appears when I switch computers? Thank you very much in advance.
One of Synthesia's biggest internal rules is that it never modifies your song files. So the kind of information you want to move to another computer has to go separately in a little sidecar file that we call a Synthesia metadata file, which has a ".synthesia" file extension.
This guide talks all about how to create one. There is a tool to help you extract that information from the app. The "Importing finger hints and hand parts" section on the guide page will be the most relevant part for your purposes.

Friends, maybe I'm not doing something right, but it's not working for me to transfer the typing information from one computer to another. I made the .synthesia file, my question is, do I have to put both the midi and the .synthesia files in the same folder on the destination computer and does it work automatically when I open the midi in Synteshia? Is there something else I should be doing?
